Email Updates and Waiting Lists

If you subscribe, join a waiting list, or opt into updates, Pet Lore may use your email address to send relevant communications, such as journal updates, calls for pitches, app news, beta opportunities, launch announcements, community invitations, or related Pet Lore updates.

You may unsubscribe or request removal from a list at any time.

Journal Submissions

Submissions to The Good Companion are treated as confidential during the review process.

Submissions may be reviewed by the editor and, when appropriate, volunteer readers or editorial advisors. Published work will only appear publicly after acceptance, editorial communication, and contributor approval of meaningful edits.

Pet Lore App

The Pet Lore app is currently in development. If you join the app waiting list, your information will be used to send app updates, beta opportunities, launch news, and related Pet Lore communications you choose to receive. A fuller app privacy policy will be provided before any public app launch.

Pet Lore may use third-party tools to operate the website, manage forms, store files, send emails, publish digital issues, review submissions, analyze site activity, or host future community spaces.

These may include services such as Wix, Google Forms, Google Drive, email marketing tools, Issuu, Substack, community platforms, analytics tools, or similar service providers. Information submitted through these tools may be processed by those platforms according to their own privacy practices.

Published Contributor Materials

If your work is accepted for publication, your name, bio, submitted links, approved images, and published work may appear publicly as part of The Good Companion or related Pet Lore promotional materials. Contributor permissions, rights, and publication terms are addressed separately in the journal’s contributor guidelines and policies.
